hello! i just got my belly button pierced and remembered that you have yours pierced too and im wondering if you have any tips on how to take care of it and how to hoop while its still healing?
PADDING.LOTS OF PADDING. And make sure to give it a good soak after hooping. That will help the swelling from any irritation go away.
While it was still very fresh, I didn’t hoop at all on my waist. I only practiced off-body and chest tricks in that time. (Weeks 1-3)
When it gets a little later (Weeks 3-6) I padded it like crazy. I used 4 cotton balls, and a large round cotton pad. I kind of encircled the piercing with cotton balls, and with medical tape, taped the pad on top to hold the cotton balls down. For super-extra padding and a tighter hold, I added a cloth medical wrap around my entire torso.
From there on out, depending on how fast you heal, you could get away with just a cotton ball and medical tape or a band-aid.
At 10-12 weeks in, where I am now, I can hoop comfortably on it with no padding at all, though I make sure to soak it after.
