How to pattern out a fursuit body using a dummy, masking tape and garbage bags.

I stuff the duct tape dummy (provided by the customer) then cover it with large leaf garbage bags and tape over it. I mark out the individual markings/seam lines and cut the separate pieces apart to use as my pattern. If the costume is to have any padding, it is made and taped over as well.

I keep the original dummy as is so I can fit the suit over it and do the final tailorings. Plus I have to adjust the bag/tape covering when I apply it so it will fit like a tailored piece of clothing rather than be skin tight and inflexible.
